Margaret Stutt, the Milwaukee musician now based in Brooklyn that we all call Pezzettino has been nothing if not industrious, releasing a slew of CDs in just a few years.
Her most recent, “Lub Dub,” was among the best records to emerge from Brew City in recent years. Her latest project, “Pedestrian Drama,” is a work-intensive one and she’s been hammering away at it for a while.
Now, she says, her “dark fear concept album” has reached the mixing stage and will appear soon.
“The audio recording will probably finished by November, and then (I) will start working on collaboration with a boutique art label that will release it as a limited edition collectible art package,” she says, adding that she’s already looking ahead toward another CD project.

The last time I caught up with Pezzettino’s Margaret Stutt was two years ago at the Foward Music Festival and we traded pleasantries, but not before I fawned over her performance.
“Stutt is a magnetic front woman,” I would later write about the show and I admit to a burgeoning musical crush. Two years have passed and Stutt has relocated from Milwaukee to New York City. As Pezzettino she’s dropped two albums and my sentiments have not wavered. In 2009 she released Lion, which felt just as angry as it was beautiful. 2010 saw a great departure from what fans knew of Stutt with the release of LubDub, a collaboration with Minnesota hip-hop producer LMNTlsyt. That album, filled with hooks and poppy as all get out, was the perfect accompaniment to summer. I recently caught up with Stutt only a handful of hours after she’d evacuated New York City in anticipation of Hurricane Irene. You can catch Pezzettino at the Sh*tty Barn in Spring Green on September 14 as she closes the venue’s Sh*tty Barn Session season. Tickets are available at Brown Paper Tickets.”

we are very excited. we had lots of fun with their toys and think they are amazing. we were dripping sweat on the hottest day of the year with no A/C. we like it. we can’t wait for the sweaty times to be in your ears. we just listened to colin stetson’s session and we are in love. we think you should go listen to that until ours is released. we love you for giving us something to do at 3:18 am. we are serious. serious in love. love, pezz
“Pezzettino certainly seemed happy to be up on that particular stage, and Margaret Stutt’s peculiar stage act was more likely than most to keep the audience’s attention on the band instead of on texting. The welcoming hometown crowd wasn’t up for much dancing, but folks were dialed in for “You Never Know,” as well as a great new song about “the citadel of New York.” If the accordion is ever going to be integrated into heavy metal, Stutt will be the one to play it.” Article Link
